Paint Stripping & Oil Restoration
Deck St. Catharines

Paint Stripping & Oil Restoration

The previous contractor had applied a solid stain, exactly the wrong product for a horizontal deck. Solid stain sits on the wood surface instead of penetrating it. Once water works underneath, it peels and traps moisture, accelerating rot from below. We power washed first, applied a chemical stripper, then used drum sanders, hand sanders, and grinders to remove every trace of the old paint. The result is a clean, open-grain surface ready to absorb a real finish. We applied Benjamin Moore Woodluxe in Teak, oil-based and translucent, which soaks into the wood rather than sitting on top. It will never peel or flake.

Backyard Deck Maintenance Coat
Deck Fort Erie

Backyard Deck Maintenance Coat

A big ground-level deck off a brick-and-siding home in Fort Erie, with a raised corner under a hardtop gazebo, black aluminum spindle railings, a wood privacy screen, and box steps down to the lawn. We restored and finished Lorie's deck back in 2024, and she had us return for a maintenance coat. That visit keeps a finished deck protected and looking new instead of letting it slide back to grey, and it costs a fraction of a full restoration. We cleaned off a season of dirt and surface weathering, sanded the floor boards back to a fresh open surface, let everything dry, and re-applied Benjamin Moore Woodluxe oil in Natural.

New Deck & Pergola — First Stain

A brand new deck and pergola in Virgil (Niagara-on-the-Lake) got its first protective finish. New wood needs to be stabilised and sealed quickly — the first coat of stain is what protects against UV and water from day one. We worked Benjamin Moore Woodluxe oil in Natural into every face, edge, and post top so the whole structure weathers uniformly. The finish soaks in rather than sitting on top, so Debra's deck and pergola will age evenly and avoid the peeling that ruins a film finish.

Wraparound Deck & Gazebo Restoration

A wraparound deck with an attached hardtop gazebo on the Thorold–St. Catharines border. We cleaned, sanded, and refinished every level with a warm semi-transparent stain — Benjamin Moore Woodluxe oil in Natural — bringing the wood grain forward while sealing it against UV and water. The gazebo got the same finish so the whole structure weathers as one.
